  What a cool line, and some intricate climbing. With the beta dialed and no mistakes, it felt super reasonable. But holy man did I whip on a bunch of attempts when I got out of balance and had the forearms suddenly redline. A beautiful lower from the lip through the arbutus leaves!

  Repeat. Climbed this 13 years ago. Didn’t remember a single move. Was trying it over the winter with wet holds. Finally dry and sent it with little issue. Tricky and technical. Many knee bars.

  Gave some days effort in June before the heat hit. Pleasantly surprised for it to go 2nd try back now. Should absolutely be more of a classic, great climbing. While kneebars and the dark arts of crawling won’t save you entirely, a number of them were still key.

  Red pointed FA of a 3 bolt extension 13a. Cleaned a bunch of choss from the area around the first anchor. 80m to lower off. Knee bar rest at the anchor is money. Prickly rock. Could use a grade consensus.

  It’s nice to top out, most 12s end in the middle of the wall. Knee bars can’t save you on that one. Not a gimme.

  Actually really nice. Different style from other Horne Lake routes…and some nice exposure. Hardest/most sustained of the 12’s. Chossy rock at the top top… but nothing you need to use!

  I've been wanting to do this one for years. Finally got around to it. Weird, but cool. Climbs differently from the other stuff in the amp. Some key kneebars keep it under control, but it still packs a power-endurance punch.

  I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked this route. Didnt feel too chossy due to more traffic over the years. Climbed it with no knee bars, feels like 12d that way.

  This is much harder than subdivisions and stormtroopers, and harder than pushers. 3 boulder problems in a row separated by poor rests. Crux comes at the roof but sustained to the anchors. Kinda chossy, broke a couple of holds. Not fantastic.

  The last standalone route for me to send in the amphitheater. One more linkup to go (a stressful day at the office). Then mystery projects :-D. Horne Stars felt a lot easier once I figured out some technical trickery. Moves are similar in difficulty to the other 12s there. I say solid 12+.

  Great climb! Felt more like 12d to me due to multiple cruxes and few rests in between. Fun and varied movement with a very cool topout - a great addition. I am giving it four Horne Stars!

  3rd try. There are probably some knee bars that could be used but I don't think they would help in the cruxy upper section. Fealt more like 12d to me. For sure harder than the other 12's on this wall...whatever the grade it is well worth doing. The exposure up top is awesome!

  Like Pete said, great exposure at the top. Fun climb! I only thought there was one hard, awkward move. Hopefully we'll get the extension done soon!
