This historic route was Québec’s first 13a. While nowadays many believe it to be more in the realm of 12+, this dosen’t change the mega classic status of the line and it’s cool history.
In the race for Québec’s first 13a, Louis Babin investigated this line, but visiting French climber Marc Le Menestrel top roped it clean. Not wanting to get scooped on the route, and with the knowledge that Le Menestrel did not like large falls, Babin put the bolts in very far apart, insuring that he would get the FA. He then named it ‘Prend ton trou’ which in Québéquois French is an expression that means to know one’s place and to ‘mind your own business’.
Pumpy with lots of airtime potential!
