Scarab – 5.12a

35m / 115ft, 12 bolts

Description:

Climb the long wall right of 'Isis in Chains.' At the upper roof, work left and through a weakness to long chains high on the wall. High quality with tricky route-finding in spots. The ancient Egyptians considered the dung beetle, Scarabaeussacer, to be a sacred symbol of Ra, the sun god. Scarabs were popular beetle amulets carried by many Egyptians. 12 bolts (35m) FA: John Fantini, Robin Barley, 1997.

Maybe I'm biased but this is a fantastic climb that has everything minus crack and 35 m! Too many heartbreaking falls at the top but was well worth it.
