Description:

The original route taken by Mike Walsh on the first ascent of Mt Colonel Foster. Starts up the Evacuation Gully at the north end of the massif between the North Tower and the North West Summit to gain the summit ridge. Follows the summit ridge southward over the North West and North East peaks to the Main Summit. Walsh returned back along the ridge crest to the deep col between the NE & NW peaks and then descended the gully down the west face and traversed back around the base of the west face to the north col. Many people return all the way back along the same route.
